Washington County is a
county in the U.S. state of Texas, known for the Convention of 1836 where
the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. As of 2009, the
population was 32,893. Its county seat is Brenham. The county is named for
George Washington, the first president of the United States. The Brenham
Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Washington County.
